One year ago today, I held my first Struggle Cooks

One year ago today, I held my first Struggle Cooks Unite event with Chef @lena_trang and then the world shutdown. We had a great time learning how to make stuffed chicken breast 2 ways, had good convos, got plating tips and even made chocolate covered pretzels. 2020 Phone Dump! 2020 was a whole beast in itself with tons of lows and some pretty great highs.

Even though we are currently still in a pandemic, I was laid off from my marketing job but my photography business @cnarobertsphoto never wavered. Booked and busy is an understatement. Ya'll ya girl is booking February because January is booked 🙌🏽🙏🏽

I've been a real life full-time Mom and entrepreneur and its hard ya'll! Drew kicks my butt every other day ya'll like a real Sour Patch Kid. 🥴

We went camping for Clark's 8th birthday. I attempted to be a YouTuber but the video has never seen the light of day 🤷🏽‍♀️

@clarksbestlemonade has been blowing up the spot!!! We got our largest order from a popular community for Lemonade Day and our lemonade can be purchased on @rosalynshotchicken food truck.

I held my first @strugglecooksunite cooking class and it was a huge success. I even started @huecookieco and drove to Dallas for the day to take a class from a GOAT @thecookieculture
.
My little sister birthed the cutest little bundle of joy just in time for my birthday.
.
Lastly, I have the best friends and family in the world. They are supportive and just bomb.com and I can't wait to see how we will flourish in 2021. Blessed that no one in my household has had to experience the Rona. But also saddened that it took my sweet and loving Grand Dad, Edwin Stanfield ❤

Shout out to my amazing BFF @nuepps + the best GOD MOMMIE in the world! Who comes to pick up custom cookies that I made for my God Son (her son), and in turns decorates the whole house?

In all honesty, our tree has been "up" and empty since Thanksgiving 🤷🏽‍♀️ I'm so grateful that God has put some fantastic souls in my life that know that I'm not perfect by any means but they still love me + my kids tremendously. #blessed

Use this time wisely they say. Start a business they say. Learn something new. Well...I kinda did all of the above. I've been practicing for a couple of months now and after encouragement from my circle @nuepps @elleytee @ms_kris_10 @nurse_carii @imagesbypapillon @tamidenise and a little bullying from @iamtakiyah I launched @huecookieco - a cottage based sugar cookie business. Rona's butt is not going anywhere fast and with me being "furloughed" (laid off is really more like it), I needed a little extra income besides photography. Am I a super experienced Cookier? No. I bake a really superb sugar cookie and with each set, I get better and better. I'm happy, my household is safe and thats what matters. Thanks for all of your support. I will be back to posting my struggle cook attempts soon.

Ya'll with life and everything going on @nuepps @nurse_carii @ms_kris_10 @elleytee @imagesbypapillon @taystastytravels reminded me that the grind doesn't stop. Your goals and dreams don't stop. 2020 has been a lot of stress + blessings but it's also been the power of the pivot. I'm juggling @cnarobertsphoto + @clarksbestlemonade + Homeschooling + Mark real estate company + Mom-ing + Wife-ing + Daughter-ing etc. It's a lot ya'll and I'm grateful for friends and family that support me in all of my zany ideas and are even just an ear to listen. Yesterday was a good day. We actually got dressed up and went out to eat masked up after 7 months of not eating out and hanging with family. We celebrated @boss_donleesace birthday and just enjoyed each other and our own private space at @miastablehouston *Not an ad, just stating facts. My Mom raised us to be pretty close and though we all drive each other crazy, I love my siblings @nurse_carii @corymoe @boss_donleesace + @tamidenise who just needs to move to Houston already 🤷🏽‍♀️.
